New York City (New York) [US], August 22: On Sunday, August 17, 2025, Cricmax Connect participated in the Madison Avenue India Day Parade, introducing youth cricket to one of the biggest celebrations of Indian heritage in the United States. The day’s schedule featured exciting live cricket demonstrations, team exhibitions, and storytelling sessions that highlighted young athletes’ journeys, blending sport with cultural pride.
As Float No. 10 in the parade, Cricmax Connect’s group included players, youth ambassadors, and invited guests. The float energized spectators along the parade route with colorful performances and lively community engagement. Cricket festivities continued on Park Avenue after the parade, where families and children enjoyed interactive experiences with the sport in a cheerful, community-oriented atmosphere.
The celebrations concluded with a Gala Dinner at Cipriani. USA national cricket players Smit Patel and Saiteja Mukkamalla joined athletes, dignitaries, community leaders including New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and special guests Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda. Together, they celebrated unity and cultural pride. “Being part of this event is about more than just the game,” said Vinay Bhimjiani, Founder and CEO of Cricmax Connect. “It’s about connection, representation, and creating a stage for the next generation that honors who they are and where they come from. Watching young cricketers bring the spirit of the game into this heritage celebration was a strong reminder of sport’s power to unite communities.”
The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) highlighted the significance of youth involvement in this year’s event, noting that the combination of emerging cricket talent with iconic cultural figures resonated deeply with the audience. “The India Day Parade celebrates our traditions while presenting the promise of the future,” said Ankur Vaidya, Chairman of FIA. “Having youth cricketers alongside stars like Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda added fresh vibrancy to the celebration and inspired countless children in the crowd.”
The August 17 programme wrapped up Cricmax Connect’s Independence Week festivities in New York City, which had earlier included flag hoistings at the Consulate General and Times Square, as well as the ceremonial lighting of the Empire State Building.
