The Weekend Aquarist Unveils 7th Issue — Now on Magzter and in Print Across India

India’s only dedicated aquarium magazine continues its mission of uniting hobbyists, conservationists, aquarium trade professionals, and aquascaping enthusiasts across the country and abroad.

Mumbai, India – Aug 1, 2025: The Weekend Aquarist, India’s first and only aquarium magazine, has launched its 7th edition, now available on Magzter (Digital Edition) and in Print at www.weekendaquarist.in. Since its debut earlier this year, the magazine has earned praise for spotlighting India’s native freshwater fish, promoting aquascaping in India, and fostering a passionate and knowledgeable community of aquarium hobbyists.

The Weekend Aquarist Podcast, running alongside the magazine, has also seen rapid growth—crossing 2,500 subscribers and nearing 1.5 lakh views on YouTube in just six months. The show’s success comes from its in-depth interviews with leading aquarists, conservation experts, and aquarium entrepreneurs.

“It is inspiring to witness more hobbyists focusing on Indian native fish and authentic biotope aquascapes,” said Amar Salvi, Editor and Founder of The Weekend Aquarist. “Each edition represents the diversity, depth, and enthusiasm within our community.”

Inside the 7th Issue: Stories from the Waters, the Hobby, and the Heart

The latest issue opens with a compelling conservation feature by Dr. Rajeev Raghavan. His field photo-essay, “In Search of the Unseen”, takes readers into India’s freshwater ecosystems, where biodiversity is still under-documented. His discovery of Aenigmachanna gollum, a rare snakehead-like fish named after Tolkien’s Gollum, blends scientific wonder with an urgent call to conserve.
